Types of  headaches

There are three main types of headache which our chiropractors deal with:

Tension aches

  • Tension aches are most common type of headache, presenting as a dull tightness in the muscles around the scalp. This type of headache can cause chronic pain, nausea and tiredness, thus affecting your concentration and wellbeing.

Migraines

  • Migraines are one of the more intense types of headache. Often described as causing throbbing pain, migraines are also known to affect the vision and trigger nausea.

Cervicogenic aches

  • Cervicogenic pains are quite common. They are secondary headaches, meaning that they are caused by an issue originating in the neck, rather than the head. Tension pains and migraines can often have a cervicogenic component.
